I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, before moving to Boulder, Colorado, to earn my B.A. in kinesiology from the University of Colorado. After spending time working in an operating room then as an ophthalmic technician in Atlanta, I continued my education at the University of South Alabama, earning my medical degree in 2006.
My wife and I spent the following four years in Norfolk, Virginia, completing an intern year in medicine and three years of ophthalmology residency. The last year was served as chief resident for the department of ophthalmology at Eastern Virginia Medical School. The summer of 2010 brought my family back to the Memphis area, the hometown of my wife’s large extended family.
I practice general ophthalmology including cataract, glaucoma, and eyelid surgery with an emphasis in medical retina. Macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy are particular areas of interest. I pride myself in a personal touch to medical care, working to confirm my patients are involved in their care and treatment decisions.
Eye Surgery: Cataract, glaucoma and eyelid surgery
Ophthalmology: Injections and lasers for treatment of wet macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
